  • For cold-rolled sheet metal thinner than 2.5 mm, thoroughly degrease the surface using a suitable metal degreaser, such as our dedicated metal degreaser, to remove oils and manufacturing residues.<\/li>\n
  • For hot-rolled sheet metal thicker than 2.5 mm, sandblast the surface to remove mill scale and ensure proper oxidation.<\/li>\n
  • If sandblasting equipment is not available, apply our descaling agent to remove the mill scale effectively before proceeding.<\/li>\n
  • Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of dust before applying the rust accelerator.<\/li>\n
  • Apply the rust accelerator evenly using a roller available in our shop.<\/li>\n
  • Respect an approximate dosage of 50 ml per square meter, corresponding to a coverage rate of 20 m\u00b2 per liter.<\/li>\n
  • After approximately 30 minutes, observe the metal surface turning blue as the reaction begins.<\/li>\n
  • After about one hour, rust will begin forming visibly.<\/li>\n
  • Allow the oxidation process to continue naturally for up to two days to achieve the desired depth of rust effect.<\/li>\n
  • After two days, apply a protective varnish, such as our varnish for Corten steel, to stabilize the finish.<\/li>\n
